The mascot of Laurel Hill High School is the hobo,
represented here by Rev. Mike McVay, pastor of
Laurel Hill First Baptist.
the Hobo Festival
is held on the second Saturday in October. The event celebrates the
arrival of Fall and includes arts & crafts, live music, and activities
for the entire family.
The visionaries for the first Hobo Festival in 1992 were Chairman R.J.
Brown and Co-Chairman Douglas Rogers. It has continued annually
except for catastrophic events, such as Hurricane Opal in 1995 and
an unspecified reason in 2013.
